SCHOOL WRITEUP

'Challenges are what make life interesting and overcoming them is what makes life meaningful' - Joshua J. Marine In the year 1990 when the two German states was being unified, when the enormous human genome project was initiated, when Nelson Mandela was released from prison and the internet was finally on the verge of breaking out there was a challenge. In a predominantly rural area of Tenkasi where the importance of education was slowly burgeoning; there was a challenge to establish a superior English Medium Matriculation school adhering to urban standards in a Tamil dominated locality. This challenge was perceived by the Appasamy Karayalar Trust and a top notch matriculation school, Bharath Montessori Matriculation Higher Secondary School (B.M.M.H.S.S.) was established at Ilanji. This school majestically grew in size and became or rather continues to be a bench mark for other schools in the region.

Unless you try to do something beyond what you have mastered, you will not grow.
- Ralph Waldo Emerson

Millennium brought with it a new smarter generation of children who were more globalised than ever before. This new set of students required a different system of education that was more in tune with the educational developments of the world. The Management of B.M.M.H.S.S. understood the change and a new school, Bharath Vidya Mandir, (B.V.M.) was started. The thirst for excellence was spreading out and a new shoot was born.

Established in the year 2013, Bharath Vidya Mandir began its journey with 449 students and 35 teachers with classes till Std. 6. Sheer hard work and passion for excellence has allowed the school to flourish and now it is brimming with 750 students studying till class 10 and 51 teachers. The school is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and follows the CCE pattern of education.

With its motto as 'Ignite the potential', the school believes that every child has inherent ability to succeed and that he/she must be carefully oriented towards it. The school ignites the innate potential in the students and allows them to proceed towards excellence. The school understands that the harmonious development of a child is more valuable than pure academic success and therefore undertakes numerous programmes in ensuring that this transcends into reality.

Our school prepares students to understand, contribute to, and succeed in a rapidly changing society, and thus make the world a better and more just place. The school encourages the students to be responsible, explore, exhibit and discover their own ways to success by promoting a culture of love, peace, justice, religious harmony and national integration.

I like the dreams of the future better than the history of the past.
- Thomas Jefferson

The school has only begun its journey and there is a long way to go. The future depends on the dreams of today and Bharath Vidya Mandir has a vision to march on towards perfection, moulding the precious young minds, igniting their potential and thereby creating a more honest, peaceful, just, successful and harmonious society.
